Soul’s Provision
Spirituality involves the recognition of a feeling or sense or belief that there is something greater than yourself, something more to being human than sensory experience, and that the greater whole of which we are part is cosmic or divine in nature.
Love. Love is the ultimate growth perception. Love is the highest vibrational frequency. God is Love. Love is God. We will overcome any obstacle for Love. Life is a journey. Life is a process. Deliverance is a lifetime process, a “present process”. The present moment is all we have. The dwelling place of God/Love is in the present moment. The “magic” is in the process, not the destination. “Where we’re going, there are no roads”. Moses was a prophet who spoke face to face with God, who taught people God’s law, and communicated worship. He delivered God’s people out of slavery, into freedom, through a season of learning to obey God in the wilderness, and towards the ultimate place of promise. The Promise Land. When people pray for daily bread, we are focused on the present. How much our anxiety would disappear if we refused to dwell in the past or worry about the future? (Philippians 3:13-14, Mathew 6:34). When we pray for our daily bread, we acknowledge that everything we need to live this day is a gift from God. “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That’s why it’s called the present” (Mathew 5:45, Acts 14:17, Master Oogway-Kung Fu Panda). Daily bread includes not only our physical needs, but our spiritual, relational, and emotional needs as well. “Without God and its gifts, we couldn’t survive a single day”. In God, we live and breathe and have our being”. Our nourishment is dependent on the continuous graciousness of God. We must nourish our relationship with God. Spending time with God in the present moment is the “stuff”, “the magic”, “what we’re searching for”. Necessary for growth, health, and good condition, vs. the “human condition”. Prayer, worship, and spending time with God. Jesus spent 40 days and nights in the wilderness after his baptism, where he was tempted by the devil. During this time, he fasted and was tested by the devil who offered him worldly power and possessions in exchange for worship. Jesus resisted the temptations by relying on God’s word and ultimately defeated the devil. The Israelites spent a significant amount of time, including 40 years, wandering in the desert before reaching the Promised Land. The Israelites spent 40 years on a journey that “should” have lasted 11 days. Moses spent 40 days and nights on Mount Sinai, and the Israelites camped for 8 days in the wilderness of sin. The provision of salvation and healing through the cross, baptism prefigured at the Red Sea, Jesus as the bread of life greater than manna, and Christ who was the rock giving living water. Moses prophetically pointed the way to Jesus. “Manna from Heaven” refers to the miraculous bread-like-substance that, according to the Bible, was provided to the Israelites during their wilderness journey! “Daily bread”, “The Way”, “The Bible”, “Jesus is the Way”. “I am the way, the truth, and life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). The only way out is through. Trust. Trust the process.
